Comfort and space
The new cab design offers a more spacious environment and features an adjustable pneumatic seat, ensuring drivers of all sizes experience enhanced comfort. It includes heating and air conditioning*, soundproofing, a sunroof, wide armrests, and multiple storage compartments. The tinted windows and redesigned steering wheel add to the overall experience, while the sliding swing door and even a refrigerated compartment* enhance functionality. Mecalac has meticulously considered every detail, from the seamlessly integrated threshold to the molded floor mat, creating a cab that meets all interior and exterior performance needs.

Stepping up to safety
Stepping in and out of the cab has been a common source of workplace accidents. To eliminate accidents caused by slipping on a tire while climbing into the cab, Mecalac has developed a patented solution that is now standard for the 12MTX. This innovative step automatically unfolds below the cab entrance whenever the operator lifts the console to exit the vehicle. As the driver steps out, they find a secure ledge directly beneath their feet. When the console is lowered, the step retracts perfectly within the machine’s width.
Safety? Everything you need with options to spare
Mecalac has designed the 12MTX to minimize the risk of accidents by incorporating innovative standard equipment. One key feature is the cab’s placement on the right-hand side, which enables service tasks to be performed safely from the ground. Additionally, the oscillation lock on the brake pedal automatically ensures machine safety, allowing the driver to concentrate on their tasks.
In response to popular demand, integrated cameras have been added and are seamlessly connected to the control monitor. These cameras display external views when the reverse gear is engaged.
Another notable innovation from Mecalac is the CONNECT quick coupler system, which can be operated directly from the cabin. This system is designed for use in both directions, significantly reducing the chance of losing an attachment whether in excavator mode or loader mode. Overall, it is the safest and highest-performing quick coupler system available on the market.

With the boom positioned to the left of the cab, the operator enjoys excellent visibility during each handling operation, even when using a large-capacity bucket to dump into a truck that is 5 meters (16 feet 5 inches) high. The kinematics integrated into the Mecalac articulated boom allow for loading and unloading manoeuvres without obstructing the operator’s field of vision. This combination of safety and efficiency is a key factor in achieving profitability.

The new speed control system offers ultra-precise adjustments to the maximum constant speed, ranging from 0.19 mph, 0.37 mph, and 0.56 mph (equivalent to 0.3 km/h, 0.6 km/h, and 0.9 km/h) up to a maximum of 19.9 km/h (32 mph). The driver has complete control over the engine’s movement speed, allowing them to fully focus on operating the tools. This easy-to-configure and enable/disable innovation significantly enhances the tool-holding function of 12MTX.
